The U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) awarded our area with a Choice Neighborhood Initiative planning grant for certain areas in east Gainesville to help address revitalization needs (see map on this page). The City of Gainesville has partnered with the Gainesville Housing Authority to obtain feedback in order to help create an early action project and strategies that will ultimately translate into a transformational grant request ($30-50M).
