Minimum Lot Size Reform Community Discussion

How can we preserve single-family zoning while increasing the number of affordable starter homes in Gainesville? One potential solution is to provide greater flexibility for smaller homes to be built on smaller lots. Meet with City Commissioner Bryan Eastman for a community discussion on the topic.

Small lot, single-family homes are common across Gainesville, from new developments to historic neighborhoods. The proposed lot standards are identical to existing zoned neighborhoods like Pleasant Street, and would allow homes as are common in Duckpond, Town of Tioga or Turkey Creek Forest, but are illegal to build across 86% of the single family lots in Gainesville.

• Monday, Oct. 30, 6-7:30 p.m. at the MLK Multipurpose Center (1028 NE 14th St.)
• Wednesday, Nov. 15, 6-7:30 p.m. at the Albert "Ray" Massey Recreation Center (1001 NW 34th St.)
