UF HOMECOMING PARADE, GATOR GALLOP RTS detours OCTOBER 7th, 2022

RTS will be running a Reduced City Service and No UF Campus Service:

• Detours will begin around 10am.
• The following Routes will not be detoured: 2, 3, 7, 11, 13, 16, 17, 23, 24, 26, & 75

 

Route 1: Outbound (from Rosa Parks TS)

• Right turn onto SE 3rd Street.
• Right turn onto Depot Avenue.
• Continue around the roundabout onto SW 9th Road.
• Cross over SW 13th Street onto SW Archer Road (resume route).

 

Route 1: Inbound (from Butler Plaza TS)

• Continue on SW Archer Road.
• Continue straight over SW 13th Street onto SW 9th Road.
• Continue around the roundabout onto Depot Avenue.
• Left turn onto SE 3rd Street.
• Left turn into Rosa Parks Transfer Station.

• Left turn onto SE 3rd Street.
• Continue straight over E University Avenue onto NE 3rd Street.

New Detour for Route 122

When the Route 122 bus now approaches NW 13th from NW 7th, it will turn left onto 13th  Street, turn Right onto University Avenue, and then left onto Buckman.

New free fare transit program begins for RTS riders 18 and younger, 65 and older

Beginning Friday, Oct. 1, individuals 18 years of age and younger, as well as those 65 and older, are eligible to ride the City of Gainesville’s Regional Transit System (RTS) for fare free. We encourage the use of masks by all passengers on RTS buses during the pandemic. Masks remain available on each City bus free of charge. We appreciate your patience as we update all signage accordingly.

 

New rider app GNVRideRTS.app

Gainesville’s Regional Transit System (RTS) is set to launch a new transit app – GNVRideRTS – on Oct. 1, and provide public transit passengers with a more efficient and user-friendly interface for planning daily commutes. GNVRideRTS currently is available for download at www.RideRTS.app for Apple, Android and desktop use. Developed by transit-based app.

• In addition, GNVRideRTS features:
• real-time updates on route detours;
• access to traffic reports;
• a drag-and-drop rider icon to access “Street View” photos of a specific location;
• and a subscription service for bus stop updates via email and text messaging.
