Availability of CDBG and HOME Programs for Outside Agency Funding

Next week, the City of Gainesville will begin accepting applications for the fiscal year 2026 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program and HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) Program.

The city receives an annual allocation from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD); and funding will cover the budget period of Oct. 1, 2025 - Sept. 30, 2026. The application period opens Tuesday, April 29 and closes Monday, May 12, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. Please note, all funding is subject to appropriation by HUD.

Projects must benefit very low-, low- and moderate-income residents and neighborhoods and address one or more of the following City of Gainesville CDBG and HOME funding priorities:

  • Housing
  • Homeless assistance
  • Job training/employment opportunities
  • Nutritional support
  • Programs that serve disadvantaged or at-risk children or elderly persons

The City of Gainesville is holding an optional Zoom workshop for prospective non-profit applicants Tuesday, April 29 from 10:30-11:30 a.m.
