In the heart of urbanized west Gainesville, Cofrin Nature Park features a half-mile-long hiking trail and a tennis court. Enjoy the playground and take advantage of the shady pavilion complete with picnic tables and grills. Once a horse farm, much of this park is returning to forest through natural succession. Large hardwood trees are found in the forest along picturesque Beville Heights Creek. View seepage wetlands on the slopes above the sparkling creek that support growths of lush ferns and colorful wildflowers. Your leashed dog may join you in this park.
The Judy Broward Survivors of Suicide Memory Garden is also within the Cofrin Nature Park. This garden is intended to be a place of comfort, meditation and healing for those who have lost a loved one through suicide.
