H. Spurgeon Cherry Pool

This pool is a full-featured aquatics facility. It includes such amenities as short course lap lanes, one- and three-meter diving boards, and diving towers.  Additional features are a disabled access ramp, and a bathhouse and showers.  Kids and adults alike will enjoy the aqua slide. The splash pad provides lots of watery fun for the littles. There is plenty of deck space for sunbathing. Bag a lunch to enjoy at our picnic tables. We have a professionally trained staff on site.

The H. Spurgeon Cherry Pool is part of the Albert "Ray" Massey Recreation Center.

The pool is named after Henry Spurgeon Cherry, Jr. Cherry played tight end for the University of Florida football team from 1929 through 1932. Cherry became a coach for the Gator football team in the 1930s. He also played basketball for the University of Florida and became the Gator basketball coach from 1942 through 1946.
