Located at Gainesville’s northwestern edge, San Felasco Nature Park is woodsy and wonderful. Hike, play, and picnic under towering pines. Breathe in the beauty of wildflowers and stroll the trails and boardwalks that lead through pine flatwoods and cypress swamps. Engage friends in a friendly game of petanque on our court. The modern playground and the sheltered picnic areas make this a great spot for outdoor get-togethers. Dogs on leashes are welcome.

Restoration activities on the north end of the park are ongoing. The City of Gainesville is working to manage this natural area for the benefit of native plants and animals. Restoration can involve mechanically altering dense vegetation to allow for prescribed fire to achieve restoration to a healthy natural environment. If you'd like to learn more about prescribed fire, please visit this webpage:whyprescribedfire.org.
